Earlier this year it was reported that a "Death Note"-like manga called "Lost+Brain" was running in Shonen Jump rival magazine Shonen Sunday. & when the first collected volume came out in Japanese stores, people looked at the art & the story & realized it was some Death Note knock-off. So as it turns out, the series didn't sell very well.
Flash forward to this week, when the third & now final volume of the manga hit stores. I'm guessing the cancellation is due to poor sales (& perhaps even poor reception). The cover of the final volume states "the shocking final volume of the prohibit hypnotic suspense!" So if you were hoping to get over your Death Note withdrawal syndrome by reading this wannabe, looks like it wont give you much material to work with.
