A poll conducted in Japan asked people who their favorite manga artist of all time was. Not surprising, Ai Yazawa was voted the top artist among females while Akira Toriyama was the most voted on with males. But totaling up both sexes reveals that Yazawa still came in at number one, followed closely by Toriyama. Takehiko Inoue came in third.
Yazawa also topped the list last year, who is still publishing her popular "NANA" manga to this day. Toriyama's "DragonBall" manga ended 13 years ago in Japan, but has recently experienced a sort of revival in Japan due to newly released DVD versions of the series, allowing him to jump way up on the list when compared to previous years. A list of all 10 top manga-ka can be found below:
